Position: Fleet Operations Manager

Position Summary:
Missouri Organic Recycling is seeking a results-driven and experienced Fleet Operations Manager to oversee the daily operations and long-term strategy of our transportation fleet. This leadership role is responsible for managing our team of truck drivers ensuring safety and compliance maintaining high performance standards and optimizing fleet operations to meet organizational goals. The Fleet Operations Manager will also play a critical role in enhancing processes maintaining equipment quality and aligning departmental performance with company objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Team Management
- Lead mentor and support all truck drivers.
- Create and manage driver schedules to ensure smooth on-time deliveries.
- Monitor team performance and identify areas for improvement.
- Provide ongoing coaching feedback and development opportunities.
2. Operational Oversight
- Oversee all transportation operations to meet production and delivery targets.
- Resolve daily operational issues quickly and effectively.
- Ensure high standards of service productivity and professionalism.
3. Process Improvement
- Analyze existing workflows for inefficiencies and implement improvements.
- Introduce best practices based on industry trends and company goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate processes across departments.
4. Product Dispatch
- Schedule and track inbound and outbound freight.
- Review and manage driver logs and trip documentation.
- Ensure all dispatch paperwork and digital records are completed accurately.
5. Fleet Management
- Oversee fleet maintenance and manage vendor relationships.
- Conduct regular inspections to identify equipment needs and replacement schedules.
- Develop and execute strategic fleet planning for future growth.
6. Safety and Compliance
- Enforce all DOT OSHA and company-specific safety standards.
- Perform regular safety audits and vehicle inspections.
- Supervise and support the DOT Compliance Administrator.
Leadership Roles & Expectations:
- LMA: Lead manage and hold your team accountable at all levels.
- Daily Operations Oversight: Ensure efficient daily scheduling and execution.
- Performance Monitoring: Track and report team and individual metrics.
- Industry Insight: Stay current on transportation trends and technologies.
- Strategic Fleet Management: Plan for future equipment budget and growth needs.
Qualifications:
- Proven experience managing transportation or fleet operations preferably in a manufacturing logistics or recycling environment.
- Strong leadership decision-making and interpersonal skills.
- Solid understanding of DOT regulations safety standards and dispatch systems.
- Familiarity with routing software fleet tracking tools and maintenance schedules.
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
- Ability to adapt troubleshoot and lead in a fast-paced environment.
Compensation:
