Job Description

The Office for Public Good Strategy and Research (OPG) housed within Academic Affairs advances institutional readiness for collaboration among students staff faculty and community partners. OPG initiatives contribute to Public Good Strategy and Research and High Impact Practices (HIPs) emphasizing transdisciplinary collaboration through community engagement leadership regeneration and health strategies. Programs are grounded in DUs four-dimensional (4D) experience integrating intellectual growth civic health character development and purposeful careers.

Position Summary

The Program Coordinator supports the mission of the Office for Public Good Strategy and Research (OPG) by coordinating student programming and fostering community engagement. This role contributes to the design and implementation of co-curricular experiences that promote leadership civic identity and public good discovery. The Program Coordinator works collaboratively with students staff faculty and community partners to ensure inclusive and impactful programming aligned with DUs four-dimensional (4D) experience.

Essential Functions

  • Coordinate first-year programming for PLP and CWC including summer communications orientation retreats residential engagement and Community Learning Field Placements (CLFP).
  • Support implementation of the CLFP program by cultivating relationships with local nonprofits schools and government agencies.
  • Facilitate community engagement orientation and provide support services to enhance stakeholder experiences.
  • Organize the CWC Scholar to Scholar Peer Mentor Program including mentor recruitment training and assignments.
  • Assist in developing cross-year co-curricular programming such as workshops retreats speaker events and celebrations.
  • Collaborate with the Faculty Director to support selection for Enrichment and Emergency Funds and coordinate disbursement with the Assistant Director of Operations.
  • Partner with the Operations team on logistics contracts student hires vendor relations communications marketing and event coordination.
  • Coordinate activities with the CWC Scholars Executive Board and support student-led programming.
  • Co-facilitate the CWC Leadership Scholars Advisory Council with the Faculty Director.
  • Build and maintain relationships with Colorado Womens College alumnae to support program engagement.
  • Perform additional responsibilities as assigned to support departmental goals.

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational and detail-oriented capabilities.
  • Ability to support student success and advocate for underrepresented populations.
  • Collaborative mindset for working with faculty staff students and alumni.
  • Demonstrated commitment to leadership education and student development.
  • Proficiency with collaboration tools (e.g. Zoom Microsoft Teams).

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelors degree.
  • 13 years of project implementation experience preferably in higher education.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with diverse constituencies.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2 years of interaction and programming with undergraduate students.
  • Experience applying DEI principles in professional settings.

Working Environment

  • Standard office environment.
  • Unexpected interruptions occur often and stress level is moderate to high.
  • Noise level is quiet to moderate.

Physical Activities

  • Ability to work in front of a computer for extended periods of time.
  • Occasionally required to move about the office/campus.

Work Schedule

Monday - Friday 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Salary Grade Number

The salary grade for the position is 7.

Hourly Range

The hourly range for the position is $23.50-$27.00.

The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate departmental budget availability internal salary equity considerations and available market information but not based on a candidates sex or any other protected status.
