Job Description

Ballarat Clarendon College has a proud tradition in rowing that dates back to 1914 for the boys and 1980 for the girls. The focus of the rowing program is complementary to the schools primary objective: to maximise students competence skills and capacities so that at the end of their time at the school they can choose their hearts desire.

We are fortunate to have a fantastic group of coaches who volunteer their services to help our students become the best they can be.

We are currently seeking expressions of interest for people with experience in rowing who would like to join our coaching team in the 2025/26 rowing season.

Rowing coaches support our students to develop their abilities in three key areas:

  • technique (rowing and coxing);
  • social and emotional health; and
  • fitness and physical health.

All coaches are provided with:

  • a rewarding experience;
  • a coaching uniform;
  • First Aid training;
  • Professional Development; and
  • reimbursement for the following:
    • NCAS Level 1 & 2 (Rowing Coaching) acquisition / renewal fees
    • Marine Licence acquisition / renewal fees.

People interested are encouraged to contact John Novak Head of Rowing via email at for further information.
