About the role
As a Coach you will play a crucial role in empowering carers to adopt and implement new approaches to enhance their clients this position you will provide personalised one-on-one and group coaching sessions that can be conducted over the phone virtually or face-to-face.
Your guidance will help carers develop essential skills to better support their care recipients while also building their capacity to recognise and pursue their own needs and goals. Additionally you will work to strengthen their ability to self-manage and provide them with valuable resources and support across a wide range of issues related to their caregiving responsibilities.
Duties
- Provide personalised individual and group coaching to carers through face-to-face phone or online sessions empowering them to enhance their well-being and caregiving skills.
- Engage carers using appropriate strengths-based assessments and risk minimisation processes.
- Provide timely and effective contact advice and referral services to the community and clients.
- Provide crisis intervention and support clients over the phone in person or via other technological means.
- Assist clients to engage with wrap around services directly as appropriate.
- Encourage positive change by helping carers implement strategies that boost their empowerment and capacity for self-care.
- Ensure high-quality person-centred service in line with The Benevolent Societys frameworks while documenting services and data accurately.
- Foster strong positive relationships with carers ensuring satisfaction and improved outcomes through timely effective support.

Skills and Experience
You will be passionate for providing outstanding service to clients and:
- Experience providing coaching services and group facilitation work or in coaching (or relevant area) would support success.
- Knowledge of wrap around and referral services available.
- Good understanding of carers issues in the domains of work health and feelings and how these impact on quality of life.
- Ability to empower carers to understand their needs/goals and to make decisions independently.
- Excellent communication skills across cultural groups with the ability to listen actively without judgement.
- Ability to articulate and share personal strategies for self-care safety and wellbeing.
- Good relationship building skills with the ability to quickly build relationships with clients and different stakeholders
- Ability to set boundaries and to seek support when needed. With the ability to work under pressure.
- Understanding of the needs of diverse communities such as Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) and gay lesbian bisexual transgender and intersex (LGBTQ) communities
