Paraprofessionals provide positive and nurturing supports to students in the school setting. Supports may include attending to students physical personal and/or social emotional needs. Upon completion of these duties the CNA/Paraprofessional will be assigned and delegated tasks and responsibilities under the direction and supervision of the building Administrator or designee. The CNA/Paraprofessional will work in a variety of classroom settings including but not limited to specialized classrooms for students with severe developmental delays intellectual and/or neurological impairments. Classrooms may be at one or multiple grade levels. Students needs may include personal care activities such as toileting transporting lifting feeding are deeply committed to an inclusive curriculum and school community that reflects the diversity of our student population. We seek candidates who are dedicated to inclusion and have a clear interest in being part of the richness of diversity that the New Bedford Public Schools community has to AND RESPONSIBILITIESWill assist the students care team with a variety of personal care assistance to students including but not limited to toileting feeding physical lifting of students for hygiene and body positioning be asked to review student IEPs on an as needed basis to ensure students needs are understood and being paraprofessional will work under the direction and guidance of administration or designee in supporting the needs of students while promoting the students growth and students transitions during arrival and dismissal between subjects/classes in school and between complete all necessary reports logs paperwork related to services provided to students. Will ensure respect and dignity is shown to respect the privacy and confidentiality of student duties related to the support of students as directed by Administration.
