Job Description

GiaCare Inc. is now accepting applications for an experienced Certified Medical Assistant to work alongside the federal government at Fort Belvoir Community Hospital (FBCH) Fort Belvoir Virginia.

Full-Time


Requirements

Education: Graduate from an accredited Medical Assistant program or completion of military training as a medic corpsman or medical technician.

Certifications:

  • Basic Life Support (BLS)

Experience:

  • At least one year of related clinic experience within preceding three years.

Duties:

  • Technical & Computer Skills:

    • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office and Internet use.

    • Experience with electronic medical records (EMRs); systems used include those at WRNMMC ATAMMC and DPHC.

  • Clinical Competence:

    • Provide age-appropriate care to patients across the lifespan (infant to geriatric).

    • Perform basic clinical tasks: vitals specimen collection equipment operation and ADL support.

    • Participate in 1:1 or line-of-sight psychiatric and medical watches; monitor and report issues.

  • Patient Care & Transport:

    • Assist with positioning ambulating transferring and transporting patients.

    • Transport lab specimens within the facility.

  • Environment & Equipment:

    • Maintain clean work areas and equipment.

    • Restock and manage supplies to ensure unit readiness.


      • May rotate through various inpatient units: Psychiatry Medical/Surgical ICU Pediatrics Emergency Mother/Infant and Nursing Admin.

  • Administrative Support:

    • Accurately document in EMRs and communicate patient data to charge nurses or physicians.

    • Ensure compliance with hospital policies especially regarding PHI and confidentiality.

  • Work Requirements:

    • Report to work physically and mentally fit.
