Job Description
The Role
Moderna is seeking a Manufacturing Supervisor to lead a cohesive team manufacturing DNA Plasmid for mRNA vaccines and therapeutics at our GMP site in Norwood MA. This night shift (Wednesday-Saturday) position supports both startup and ongoing operations.
As a hands-on front-line leader you will oversee a high-performing flexible team to deliver clinical and commercial-grade DNA Plasmid. Youll apply bioprocess and cGMP knowledge learn the Moderna platform and ensure operational excellence with a focus on safety and product quality.
Heres What Youll Do
Lead daily operations including aseptic processing fermentations lysis purification and equipment oversight in a GMP environment
Coach and supervise staff with a strong floor presence; conduct training and batch record reviews to maintain compliance and readiness
Ensure safety quality and operational excellence through audit support deviation handling and continuous improvement
Drive team performance development and succession planning aligned with Modernas goals
Utilize digital and manufacturing systems (e.g. SAP VEEVA Syncade LIMS CMMS) to support execution and data integrity
Heres What Youll Need (Basic Qualifications)
STEM degree with 3-5 years experience or Associates degree with 5-8 years or HS Diploma with 8 years experience
Heres What Youll Bring to the Table (Preferred Qualifications)
Prior team or project leadership experience
Strong understanding of GMP regulations
Skilled in manufacturing systems and digital tools
Effective communicator and motivator
Demonstrated ability to work in and foster a collaborative inclusive culture
This position is site-based requiring you to be at Modernas site full-time. This position is not eligible for remote work.
