About the Opportunity

In this hands-on role youll perform a wide range of manual tasks and operate heavy machinery in a dynamic outdoor environment helping maintain the infrastructure that keeps our community moving. Youll work outdoors contribute to vital infrastructure and be part of a team that makes a real difference in the community.

You will make an impact by

• Performing maintenance and construction tasks across road reserves including drainage concreting signage and street sweeping.
• Safely operating plant machinery such as skid steers excavators tip trucks and street sweepers.
• Carrying out manual tasks like lifting raking and digging.
• Conducting regular inspections and maintenance of equipment.
• Assessing work sites for hazards and applying appropriate risk controls.
• Following OH&S policies and procedures to ensure a safe working environment.

What you will bring

• Construction Induction Card.
• Competence in operating heavy mechanical plant and vehicles over 8 tonnes (MR licence or higher).
• Strong understanding of civil maintenance techniques.
• Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
• Confidence using digital tools like tablets for scheduling and communication.
• A commitment to Cardinias values: teamwork respect accountability communication and customer focus.

Please note you will also need to

• Commit to obtaining -within 3 months of being eligible- an upgrade to a Heavy Rigid Victorian Driver Licence category.
• Commit to obtaining within 3 months of being eligible - an upgrade to a Heavy combination Victorian Driver Licence category.

Cardinia will allow paid work time to achieve this but will not reimburse any costs.
