About the Role
The primary objectives of the role are to maintain open space areas including parks gardens lawn areas to the Baw Baw Shire Council Open Space Maintenance Standards.
This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys outdoor work takes pride in their surroundings and wants to contribute to the liveability and presentation of our growing region.
About the Successful Candidate
If youre someone who enjoys working outdoors takes pride in maintaining public spaces and values being part of a team that contributes to the communitys quality of life. To be successful in this role youll ideally have experience in open space parks or grounds maintenance.
You should be familiar with operating and maintaining relevant machinery and tools safely and hold a current drivers licence with a Medium Rigid (MR) licence considered desirable. Qualifications such as a Certificate III in Horticulture Parks & Gardens or equivalent practical experience are preferred. A strong understanding of safe work practices and commitment to occupational health and safety requirements is essential.
In addition to your practical skills youll bring a strong work ethic and a proactive can-do attitude. You should be able to work well both independently and within a team environment when required. Good communication skills and a customer-focused approach to service requests will help you succeed.
You will also be required to obtain and maintain a valid Working with Children Check and Police Check as part of your employment. Above all youll have a willingness to learn and contribute to the care and presentation of Baw Baw Shires public spaces.
