Job Description
HWRHS is looking for an enthusiastic dynamic school counselor to join the school counseling team in a long term substitute position during a maternity leave. The successful candidate will be responsible for the direct management of approximately one third of our student body (grades 10-12) will have strong interpersonal skills the ability to manage group and individual counseling where needed and work with students to help them make the best academic and personal decisions including the college application duration of this position is anticipated to run from August 25 2025 - October 23 ResponsibilitiesProvide group and/or short-term personal counseling to crisis intervention for students staff and/or parents as as a liaison between students and teaching faculty as the need as a contributing member of the IST and Crisis Intervention as a contact to human service agencies working with students and their the mediation conflict resolution and intervention process with staff and parent student and staff understanding of the secondary guidance and service a caseload of students as assigned by the Director of School college admissions information as part of the college search application and admissions closely with the HS school counseling team to support all students in the academic and social-emotional settingTeaching students and school staff about specific topics such as bullying drug abuse and planning for college or careers after graduation
