Job Description

Production Engineering Manager - Fixed Term Contract 12 Months

Position:K-Level First Line Leader (ME LE NC EE) Full-time Sheffield
Duration:1 year Oct 2025-Oct 2026 (Maternity cover)
Reporting to:Site Senior Engineering Manager

Domestic Relocation: Available

Were looking for a motivated and experienced engineer to step into the First Line Leader role for our team here in Sheffield. While the role has typically been filled by someone with a Mechanical Engineering background were open to candidates from other relevant engineering disciplines.

What were looking for:

  • Youll be working currently at K-Level or above.
  • Youll have a degree in Mechanical Aerospace or a related engineering field.
  • Youve got at least 5 years experience in manufacturing or service with over 2 years managing people.
  • Youre comfortable working in teams and can adapt quickly to changing priorities.
  • Delegation is one of your strengths and youre confident reading and interpreting technical drawings and specs.

Nice to have:

  • Experience in manufacturing especially machining would be great but isnt essential.
  • Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles like Greenbelt or Blackbelt Six Sigma.
  • Some CAD experience ideally CATIA.
  • Experience with Apriso is a bonus but not required.

Youll be leading and supporting a team of engineers and technicians managing projects and processes and making sure we meet our quality and safety standards. Youll work closely with customers and stakeholders helping to drive improvements and keep things running smoothly. Motivating and developing your team will be a key part of your role.
