The CB-DDT group is a multidisciplinary group focused on development of advanced drug delivery systems and advanced therapies. The group targets rare diseases and also cancer including lung cancer therapies. Further the group is involved in the preclinical evaluation of new treatments based on biological components.
We seek a highly motivated candidate to temporarily work in one of our projects devoted to the preclinical testing of a new therapeutic drug delivery system for enzyme replacement therapy using exosomes for rare diseases (Erdera).
Education and qualifications:
Required:
- BSc in the field of biosciences
- Masters degree in the field of bioscience
- Outstanding academic records
Desired:
- Fluent English (written and oral)
Experience and knowledge:
Required:
- Previous laboratory experience in molecular and cellular techniques from cell culturing to genetic editing and production of recombinant proteins and protein-loaded extracellular vesicles
- Experience in production of enzyme replacement therapies based on extracellular vesicles
- Lab management skills (analytical organizational and time management)
- Good computer skills
Desired:
- A record of previous publications conferences and other merits will be very valuable
- We are looking for a person who has a proven hands-on attitude flexible and adaptable

Main responsibilities and duties:
- The candidate will be in charge of the design execution and reporting of in vitro and in vivo preclinical experiments for treating rare disease models including cell culture in vitro efficacy/toxicity assays and animal handling. As part of the DDT the BSc will also have specific laboratory management duties.
- The BSc will be supervised by Dr. Simo Schwartz Jr and other senior researchers in the DDT team. Although daily interaction training and feedback will be provided we expect the BSc to be capable of leading their own tasks soon after joining the group.
Labour conditions:
- Full-time position: 40h/week
- Starting date: September 2025
- End date: December 2025
- Gross annual salary: 22.82322 euros (Salary ranges are consistent with our Collective Agreement pay scale)
- Contract: Technical and scientific activities contract linked to the project activities
