Job Description
Mandan Public Schools (MPS) is currently hiring Classified Substitutes to support all MPS buildings. We are looking for substitutes in the areas of Nutrition Services Custodial Services and Paraprofessional Support.
Purpose:
Classified Substitutes play a vital role in supporting the daily operations of Mandan Public Schools by filling in for staff absences in Nutrition Services Custodial Services and Paraprofessional roles. Substitutes help maintain a safe clean and productive environment that supports student learning and well-being.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Perform the duties of the absent staff member in Nutrition Services Custodial Services or as a Paraprofessional.
Follow all directions procedures and schedules provided by building staff.
Collaborate with building administrators and team members to ensure daily tasks are completed.
Maintain a clean safe and respectful environment for students and staff.
Assist students as directed including supporting classroom activities and supervising student behavior (Paraprofessional roles).
Handle food preparation service and cleanup in accordance with safety and hygiene standards (Nutrition Services roles).
Perform cleaning and maintenance tasks to keep facilities safe and functional (Custodial roles).
Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all district policies and procedures.
Report any concerns or incidents to the appropriate supervisor.
Demonstrate professionalism reliability and flexibility in all assignments.
Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Must be at least 18 years of age.
Ability to follow oral and written directions.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work well with students and staff.
Ability to adapt to different school environments and duties.
Dependability and a positive attitude.
