Job Description Highlights:

Role Scope & Requirements:

We are seeking a lacrosse focused individual with an ability to lead individual player development and collective team development. The Staff Coach will be responsible for executing the Force Academy Lacrosse coaching model to ensure a consistent and coherent identity across all of our age groups. The Staff Coach should possess exceptional communication and interpersonal skills and be able to manage players of all ages and abilities in a professional manner. The Staff Coach should be able to work as part of a collaborative and professional coaching staff which includes both taking direction from other coaches and giving direction to other coaches. This position reports to the Program Director and is responsible for the development of youth players according to the Force Academy Lacrosse Coaching Model and Player Development Philosophy.

Job Functions:

• Participate in all coaching aspects of all age groups

• Participate as a lead trainer for internal supplemental training programs offered seasonally by the Academy

• Participate in the design and execution of weekly training sessions through collaborative communication with other position specific coaches

• Aid player development and motivation by providing positive and constructive feedback that is delivered in an appropriate method

• Demonstrate a willingness to further personal knowledge and development

• Carry out responsibilities in accordance with the Academys policies and all applicable laws particularly regarding the safeguarding of youth/minor players

• Develop player recruitment strategy in partnership with all Academy coaching staff and ensure successful execution of said strategy

• Recruitment guidance development and evaluation (both written and verbal) of male youth lacrosse players

• Attend assist and support other lacrosse related Academy activities and events as requested by the Director

• Conduct and participate in periodic staff meetings to address any administrative and operational needs

• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications & Skills:

• Previous experience coaching in High School or College environment required

• Previous experience playing in College environment highly preferred

• Possess positional expertise (Defense Offense Goalies) and be able to coach those specific positions

• Demonstrated ability to develop and maintain positive cross-functional relationships within the organization

• Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when privy to sensitive information

• Additional expert knowledge in other areas of youth development preferred (for example Goalkeeping Sports Performance Video Analysis Child Education Sports Medicine or Psychology)

• Excellent leadership verbal and written communication skills

• High level of commitment to quality work product and organizational ethics integrity and compliance

• Ability to consistently work from the TOCASports location in Rocky River OH

• Willing and able to work evenings weekends and occasionally travel to out of town tournaments and events
