LOCATION: 250 Miller Place Hicksville NY 11801
HOURS: Day Shift (flexible hours)
FULL TIME: Benefits Eligible
In this role you will:
Conduct cytological examination of GYN specimens which includes initial screening and reporting of normal and abnormal cases
Retrieve previous histories to refer cases for QC review
Refer all abnormal cases for final pathology review and diagnosis
Ensure specimen integrity by adhering to the laboratorys procedures for specimen handling and processing
Adhere to departmental policies and procedures to include departmental programs quality control quality assurance and safety
Education and/or Experience:
BS Degree in Cytotechnology Medical Technology Clinical Laboratory Science or BS degree in a laboratory science plus completion of a one year course of study at an accredited school of Cytotechnology
ThinPrep Certification required
Image Guided experience preferred
Certified in Cytotechnology by the American Society of Clinical Pathologists (ASCP) preferred or ASCP eligible
