Job Description:
Amherst College invites applications for the Assistant Diving Coach position. Given Amhersts distinction as one of the most diverse liberal arts colleges in the country the successful candidate will demonstrate the ways in which they bring value to and will work towards supporting a broadly diverse community.
The assistant coach will assist the head coach in all aspects of a highly competitive NCAA Division III diving program. The position will include responsibilities such as practice planning coaching daily operations athlete development and various other administrative tasks as assigned by the head coach for the mens and womens diving position requires an understanding of the role of intercollegiate athletics in a highly competitive academic environment. Requires night and weekend work and overnight travel to away competition. The assistant coach takes appropriate actions to support a diverse workforce and participates in the Colleges efforts to create a respectful inclusive and welcoming work environment.

Summary of Responsibilities:
Coaching
Assist with in-season coaching and teaching to develop student-athletes skill conceptual understanding and teamwork
Assists in practice planning and player development
Program responsibilities
Compliance with College NESCAC and NCAA rules and regulations
Perform any and all other related duties as assigned or directed by the head coach
Qualifications:
Required
Bachelors Degree
Valid drivers license to drive college vehicles to team competition when necessary. Requires successful completion of Five College Risk Management driver credentialing program. (See: current lifeguard certification
Collegiate swimming and/or coaching experience
Commitment to or experience working with a diverse community
Successful completion of required reference and background checks
