You will be joining the Ottawa HR Team to support our business in various HR Matters. You will be exposed to multiple HR facets and will learn a lot about HR the railway industry and Alstom.
Purpose of the job:
The HR Intern plays a key administrative & operational role within the HR Team. This role provides flexible responsive and proactive support to the HR Business Partners (HRBP). He/She will hold various HR administrative and operational responsibilities and will be successful in this role thanks to strong organization planning and communication skills.
Key Responsibilities:
Supports the HRBP on specific HR events such as employee engagement initiatives: Manages logistics including communications with suppliers facilitators and attendees.
Provides day-to-day operational support for meeting arrangements and follow-up action plans.
Maintains reliable information/data in our internal HRIS by updating and entering data.
Maintains employee records.
Manages pre-onboarding for new hireswhich includes completing background checks and coordinating medical visits.
Participates in the new hires onboarding & induction.
Supports recruitment coordination: schedules interviews follows up with candidates and managers.
Competencies & Skills :
Reliable committed and able to perform duties involving confidential and sensitive information. This role requires maintaining confidentiality at all times.
Adept at problem-solving including being able to identify & resolve issues in a timely manner
Resourceful & possess strong interpersonal skills.
Communication skills both written and verbal with employees managers and the HR team.
Ability to prioritize and work in a collaborative environment.
Ability to effectively read and interpret information and present numerical data in a resourceful manner.
