Job Description: Assistant Head of Department - Construction
Job Responsibilities:
- Support the Head of Department in overseeing the construction program and initiatives.
- Engage with students to foster a supportive learning environment while promoting engagement and academic success.
- Collaborate with teaching staff to develop and deliver innovative and effective construction curricula.
- Assist in the management of departmental resources ensuring optimal utilization and compliance with health and safety regulations.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of departmental strategic plans and goals.
- Participate in academic assessments and evaluations providing feedback and guidance to enhance teaching quality.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry standards and advancements in construction practices.
- Engage with local employers and stakeholders to ensure alignment of curricula with industry needs.
- Contribute to recruitment and retention strategies for both students and staff within the department.
Essential Qualifications:
- No specific educational qualification required but a background in construction is essential.
- Demonstrated capability to lead and motivate teaching staff and students.
Desired Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in a relevant educational or construction-based role.
- Experience in curriculum development and implementation in the field of construction.
- Proficient understanding of the construction industry and its standards.
- Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders including students faculty and industry partners.
