Job Description

The State of Montana has a decentralized human resources (HR) system. Each agency is responsible for its own recruitment and selection. Required Education and Experience:

  • Bachelors degree in Public Administration Business Administration Communication Education Social Sciences or a closely related field.
  • 3 years of experience in program management reporting and analysis or a related field.
  • 1 year of supervision or team lead experience.
  • Alternative combinations of related experience and education may be considered. Such as 7 years of related experience and 1 year of supervisory / team lead experience.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills both orally and in writing.
  • Experience in building relationships with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and cultures as well as internal and external agency contacts.
  • Ability to analyze and evaluate information to develop policies and/or guides.
  • Concepts and theories of program planning administration specifically federally funded programs.
  • Proficient in Excel.

TheMontana Department of Transportation (MDT) is recruiting for a Program Supervisor Civil Rights. This position is responsible for the ongoing development and administration of multiple Civil Rights programs including the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) Program the Small Business Enterprise (SBE) Program and DBE/SBE Supportive Services. Responsible for monitoring and reporting compliance with applicable standards and requirements. This position occasionally travels around the state to program sites conferences and trainings. There is also occasional out-of-state travel to conferences. This position reports to the OCR Bureau Chief and supervises four employees.
