Evaluation Coordinator (EC) (Full-time 40 hours) Exempt


BUILD Inc. (Broader Urban Involvement and Leadership Development) is presently seeking a committed self-motivated and innovative individual to join our team. BUILD is a nationally respected gang intervention violence prevention and youth development organization based on Chicagos West Side. The Evaluation Coordinator will work collaboratively with others both internally and externally to define success establish metrics collect and analyze data quantify and visualize results and support continuous quality improvement (CQI) Evaluation Coordinator will report directly to the Evaluation Manager.


Defining and refining success of BUILDs program delivery model (approx. 25%)

  • Work collaboratively with program staff and leaders to develop define and refine success metrics for BUILDs work
  • Support with facilitating qualitative evaluation activities (e.g. observations focus groups key informant interviews)
  • Help compile curate and integrate success stories into evaluation reporting efforts

Conducting user-centered data collection analysis and storytelling (approx. 25%)

  • Co-create surveys and forms for internal and external data requests and needs
  • Facilitate data collection training and assistance for program staff
  • Conduct descriptive analyses and statistical tests such as t-tests and regressions in Excel
  • Discover and discuss insights with program stakeholders; create data stories including narrative numbers and visuals

Compiling evaluation data for program and funder reporting (approx. 20%)

  • Design maintain and document data collection tools and processes based on program and funder requirements
  • Support with monitoring and communication of program outputs and outcomes
  • Provide input to development staff on metrics for funding applications and renewals

Facilitating continuous quality improvement opportunities (approx. 20%)

  • Support the development and execution of continuous quality improvement processes that help program staff and leaders use data to improve program design and implementation
  • Contribute to the planning and execution of data-focused engagement opportunities for program teams and the whole organization

Working collaboratively with other MEL staff to complete other duties as assigned (approx. 10%)

Requirements

Education and work experience

  • Bachelors degree in a relevant field of study required; masters degree preferred
  • Experience with data collection analysis visualization and/or reporting in a social services organization: minimum 2 years with bachelors degree or minimum 1 year with a masters degree
  • Experience quantifying and visualizing data in a youth-serving nonprofit organization preferred

Skills and abilities

  • Proficiency in collecting organizing analyzing and identifying insights in both quantitative and qualitative data
  • Proficiency in using data analysis and visualization software such as Excel R and Power BI
  • Able to build collaborative working relationships with diverse stakeholders including program staff and leadership
  • Able to independently prioritize work and monitor progress toward goals
  • Expertise in Microsoft 365 applications particularly Excel and PowerPoint
  • Excellent written verbal and visual communication skills
  • Passionate about leveraging data in pursuit of BUILDs mission and core values
  • Able to pass a criminal record and child abuse/neglect registry check
