Job Title
Yarn Planner Finished YarnPosition Overview
The Yarn Planner is responsible for generating and updating the yarn production schedule(s) for products manufactured at Shaw PD7. This position works closely with all levels of management to meet plant goals while ensuring efficient proactive measures are followed and are well timed to provide World Class Service to our customers.
Responsibilities:
Schedule Air-twist twisting and heatset processes of yarn manufacturing
Generate Yarn Manufacturing Orders (YMOs) as orders are received in the Yarn Shop Floor system (YSF)
Ordering feeder yarn as needed to complete YMOs through Glink on the SREQ screen or through contacting the appropriate ordering contact
Review yarn allocation detail daily to ensure proper yarn flow
Review yarn capacity report daily to ensure proper scheduling
Run production report through YSF system daily
Review and maintain order status system
Issue orders to the shop floor for manufacturing to process
Monitor and evaluate yarn inventory with a focus on aged/small lots
As needed provide re-lot numbers for cabling
Coordinate and issue YMOs for all trial requirements
Maintain detailed records for all trials processed at the plant through the Master Data Management system (MDM) for the life of the records as outlined in the corporate record retention guidelines. This will include MDM Number Where and When the trial was run Material Trial Run Number (MTR) and the MTR Evaluation Report
Requirements:
Associate degree in a supply chain related field Bachelors Degree preferred OR 2 years experience in Production Planning Customer Service or Manufacturing Support role
Working knowledge to use required software such as Microsoft Office Google Suite Myshaw Reports Mainframe MDM YSF OMP as well as other software
Must have good written and oral communication skills with all levels of management and the shop floor
The ability to work under pressure to balance deadlines competing priorities customer satisfaction time constraints unforeseen changes or problems.
Ability to work overtime or weekends as required by business needs.
Ability to climb stairs several times per day
Previous experience in scheduling is preferred
Strong analytical skills preferred
