Job Description

Maintenance Worker (Part-Time)

Roman Catholic High School

Position Summary:

Roman Catholic High School is currently seeking a part-time Maintenance Assistant who will be responsible for maintaining a clean safe and functional environment within the facilities. Reporting to the Maintenance Director this role involves performing routine cleaning minor repairs and general upkeep of the buildings and grounds. The position requires attention to detail the ability to work independently and the flexibility to handle various tasks as needed.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Essential Duties:

Perform general cleaning duties including sweeping mopping dusting vacuuming and sanitizing restrooms classrooms offices and common areas as needed.

Empty trash receptacles and ensure proper waste disposal as needed.

Assist in maintaining the exterior of the facility by sweeping sidewalks clearing snow and ensuring safe entryways.

Conduct minor maintenance and repair tasks such as replacing light bulbs tightening fixtures and reporting more extensive repairs to the Maintenance Director.

Restock cleaning supplies paper products and soap in restrooms and other areas as needed.

Set up and break down tables chairs and equipment for events and meetings.

Monitor and report any safety hazards equipment malfunctions or other issues requiring attention.

Assist with general maintenance projects as needed such as painting minor plumbing or carpentry tasks.

Ensure compliance with safety regulations and maintain a clean and organized work environment.

QUALIFICATIONS (Education/Training and Experience/Skills) Required:

Previous experience in custodial janitorial or maintenance work preferred.

Basic knowledge of cleaning products and equipment.

Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and stand for extended periods.

Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining a clean orderly environment.

Good communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.

Flexibility to work varying hours including early mornings evenings or weekends as needed.

Knowledge of and commitment to the mission of Roman Catholic High School.

SALARY

This is a 12-month part-time position at 19 hours per week. Hourly rate is $15/hour.
