The Fremont Police Department is recruiting for the position of Police Communications Dispatcher.
Recruitment Process
- Step 1: Apply
- Applicants must attach a valid typing certificate. A valid typing certificate must include all of the following requirements:
- Ability to type no less than 45 net words per minute
- Must be dated within the last 12 months
- All tests must be administered by a professional; the proctor/agency contact information must be listed on your certificate
- If you choose to do an online typing test your certificate must indicate that your ID was verified and a proctor must have virtually monitored the addition all of the above requirements must be met.
- Applicants must attach a valid typing certificate. A valid typing certificate must include all of the following requirements:
- Step 2: Personal History Questionnaire (PHQ)
- Step 3: CritiCall Exam
- Step waived for candidates who have passing POST Entry-level Dispatcher Selection Test Battery Exam (POST Dispatcher Exam) or CritiCall scores attached to their application.
- POST Entry-Level Dispatcher Selection Test Battery (POST Dispatcher Exam)with a minimum T-Score of 51 dated within the last 12 months.
- OR CritiCall exam scores dated within the last 12 months.

- Call Summarization 1 - 61%
- Call Summarization 2 MT 64%
- Cross Referencing (Audio) 53%
- Memory Recall 69%
- Memory Recall-Numeric (Audio) 62%
- Prioritization 70%
- Map Reading - 67%
- Spelling 71%
- Sentence Clarity 65%
- Reading Comprehension - 55%
- Overall Non Data Entry 62%
Overall Data Entry - 1872 KPH
- Step waived for candidates who have passing POST Entry-level Dispatcher Selection Test Battery Exam (POST Dispatcher Exam) or CritiCall scores attached to their application.
- Step 4: Oral Board Interview
- Step 5: Management Panel Interview
- Step 6: Polygraph
- Step 7: Background
- Step 8: Executive Panel Interview
- Step 9: Conditional Offer (Final job offer is dependent on the Medical and Psychological evaluations)
