Job Description

Lead Pharmacist Technician

At K2 Medical Research a privately-owned clinical research facility with multiple locations in Florida Tennessee and Rhode Island. We are seeking aLead Pharmacist Technician for our clinic in The Villages FL.This role provides direction and oversight of pharmacy clinic activities and staff; develops and manages the departmental infrastructure staff performance and ensures compliance; initiates proactive consultation with clinic management business development and client representatives concerning pharmacy services in the clinic; and assumes primary responsibility for the visibility reputation and quality of pharmacy services.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Establishes approves and maintains Pharmacy procedures and policies to support management operation guidelines related to investigational product (IP) and their administration to study volunteers.
  • Ensures adherence to all FDA regulations state and federal laws and maintainsdocumentation of such. Develops departmental infrastructure.
  • Provides consultation to clients concerning future studies as it relates to pharmacy procedures and IP preparation and/or equipment for IP delivery. Assists with study feasibility from apharmacy perspective.
  • Analyzes theperformance of thePharmacy in terms of cost effectiveness andproductivity.
  • Manages departmental budgets. Ensures Pharmacy Services meets or exceeds annualfinancial goals for clinical site.
  • Provides direction and communicates departmental goals and objectives; Ensures alignment with clinic goals and objectives.
  • Establishes a positive working relationship between thepharmacy department and all otherdepartments teams and project managers to ensure a total environment of teamworkthroughout thecourse of a trial.
  • Participates in planning and implementation of study activities as it relates to thepharmacyand dosing of investigational drugs to study volunteers.

Knowledge Skills and Abilities:

  • Expert knowledge of GCPs FDA DEA regulations and guidelines as they to thedispensation ofinvestigational product in a clinical research environment.
  • Advanced knowledge of clinical research procedures.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to provide direction leadership and mentorship to staff.
  • Strong strategic planning skills.
  • Ability to multi-task.

Qualifications:

  • Pharmacy Technician Licensure and Certification
  • Previous experiencethat provides the knowledgeskills and abilities to perform thejob (comparable to2 years as a licensed research pharmacy technician) or equivalent and relevant combination of education training & experience.
