Job Description

Job Title: Press Brake Lead 1st Shift
Department: Manufacturing / Production
Location: Anaheim CA
Job Type: Full-Time

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Press Brake Lead to join our 1st shift production team. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for setting up and operating press brake machines while also mentoring and coordinating a team of operators. Your expertise will help shape the success of our shop floor-literally and role is perfect for a fabricator who values precision leads by example and takes pride in coaching others toward excellence.

Key Responsibilities

Lead by Example

  • Set up and operate press brake machines to bend and form sheet metal parts with high precision.
  • Train and guide press brake operators to ensure adherence to company standards and best practices.

Own the Setup

  • Read and interpret complex blueprints engineering drawings and work orders.
  • Program and adjust brake press settings for different materials thicknesses and tolerances.

Drive Quality

  • Inspect parts during and after production using precision measuring tools (calipers gauges protractors etc.).
  • Ensure consistency accuracy and compliance with engineering specifications.

Optimize Operations

  • Identify process inefficiencies machine issues or tooling problems and offer practical solutions.
  • Monitor daily output and drive continuous improvement on the floor.

Coordinate Production

  • Communicate with supervisors engineers and cross-functional departments to prioritize work orders and manage deadlines.
  • Allocate tasks manage resources and track shift performance metrics.

Promote Safety & Standards

  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Enforce safety policies and procedures lead daily safety meetings and ensure full team compliance.

What Were Looking For

  • Technical Expertise in operating press brakes (Amada Trumpf Cincinnati etc.) and interpreting complex mechanical drawings.
  • Leadership Experience coordinating production tasks and mentoring team members in a manufacturing setting.
  • Detail-Oriented Mindset with a sharp eye for measurements quality control and tolerances.
  • Strong Mechanical Aptitude for identifying and resolving machinery/tooling issues quickly.
  • Team-Oriented Communicator who fosters a collaborative and productive work environment.

Qualifications

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical training or certifications in metal fabrication or CNC machinery is a plus.
  • Experience:
    • 3 years operating press brake machines in a manufacturing environment.
    • Minimum 1 year in a lead or supervisory capacity is preferred.
