About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and motivated Press Brake Lead to join our 1st shift production team. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for setting up and operating press brake machines while also mentoring and coordinating a team of operators. Your expertise will help shape the success of our shop floor-literally and role is perfect for a fabricator who values precision leads by example and takes pride in coaching others toward excellence.
Key Responsibilities
Lead by Example
- Set up and operate press brake machines to bend and form sheet metal parts with high precision.
- Train and guide press brake operators to ensure adherence to company standards and best practices.
Own the Setup
- Read and interpret complex blueprints engineering drawings and work orders.
- Program and adjust brake press settings for different materials thicknesses and tolerances.
Drive Quality
- Inspect parts during and after production using precision measuring tools (calipers gauges protractors etc.).
- Ensure consistency accuracy and compliance with engineering specifications.
Optimize Operations
- Identify process inefficiencies machine issues or tooling problems and offer practical solutions.
- Monitor daily output and drive continuous improvement on the floor.
Coordinate Production
- Communicate with supervisors engineers and cross-functional departments to prioritize work orders and manage deadlines.
- Allocate tasks manage resources and track shift performance metrics.
Promote Safety & Standards
- Maintain a clean and organized workspace.
- Enforce safety policies and procedures lead daily safety meetings and ensure full team compliance.
What Were Looking For
- Technical Expertise in operating press brakes (Amada Trumpf Cincinnati etc.) and interpreting complex mechanical drawings.
- Leadership Experience coordinating production tasks and mentoring team members in a manufacturing setting.
- Detail-Oriented Mindset with a sharp eye for measurements quality control and tolerances.
- Strong Mechanical Aptitude for identifying and resolving machinery/tooling issues quickly.
- Team-Oriented Communicator who fosters a collaborative and productive work environment.
Qualifications
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent required. Technical training or certifications in metal fabrication or CNC machinery is a plus.
- Experience:
- 3 years operating press brake machines in a manufacturing environment.
- Minimum 1 year in a lead or supervisory capacity is preferred.
