The Division of Facilities Management (DFM) is a customer-driven support organization responsible for providing facilities management services to the entire CDHS facility portfolio. CDHS has offices and divisions throughout the states three specific regions (North Denver Metro South Pueblo and Colorado Springs and West Grand Junction) and comprises 343 buildings approximately 4M GSF 1500/acres spread over more than 20 campuses.
DFM is responsible for the day-to-day maintenance and operational needs of buildings and grounds including custodial services. Additionally the Planning and Technical Services (PTS) team supports CDHS in various areas such as Energy & Sustainability Fleet Commercial Leasing Computer Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) documentation archiving and management and internal Finance Administration. The Planning Design and Construction (PDC) team also assists with the development and implementation of the departments Capital Construction planning in collaboration with the Office of the State Architect.
This is an in-person position Monday-Friday and requires travel throughout the state.
This position serves as the Director of DFM. The purpose of this position is to oversee the planning maintenance and operation of all CDHS facilities as may be required by programmatic need. This position regularly makes decisions impacting the non-programmatic operations of all CDHS facilities including budgeting staffing and short and long-range planning. This position must make strategic decisions based on analysis of current and future conditions and needs of CDHS. This position is responsible for establishing and implementing all policies and procedures related to the maintenance and operations of all CDHS facilities. The Director of DFM supervises a central management team responsible for operations state-wide.
Bachelors degree from an accredited university in facilities management engineering (civil electrical mechanical or industrial) architecture project management legal or a closely related field of study.
Preferred Qualifications:
Understanding of the International Building Codes (IBC) American Institute of Architects (AIA) standards National Council of Architectural Registration Board (NCARB) requirements Joint Commission (TJC) standards Construction Management Systems (CMS) and Facility Guidelines Institute (FGI) standards
Professional Engineer (PE) License
Construction Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
