POSITION OVERVIEW:

We are seeking a proactive and results-driven Manager to lead and oversee daily operations ensure team productivity and drive strategic goals. The Access Control & Badging Manager is responsible for overseeing the security and integrity of Harris Countys access control systems and procedures. This position ensures that security protocols are consistently followed to protect information systems and physical assets.


This role includes managing employees vendor coordination application support and end-user services to maintain and enhance access control badging and associated systems. Evaluate technical physical security requirements understand evolving technology and collaborate effectively with stakeholders across the organization.


JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

Lead a team of individuals and oversee daily operations ensure team productivity and drive strategic goals.


Program Management

  • Engage with requesters to define business needs and project requirements.

  • Draft and maintain Statements of Work (SOW).

  • Conduct assessments with vendors.

  • Develop and manage deployment schedules.

  • Oversee system deployment testing and quality assurance.

  • Coordinate user acceptance and verify successful implementation.

Application Support

  • Create and manage Access Control clearance codes and associated user profiles.

  • Maintain configure and monitor the health and performance of Harris County security systems (e.g. access control video surveillance intrusion detection).

  • Ensure systems are compliant with security protocols and functioning optimally.

Engagement & Meetings

  • Participate in planning and update meetings with law enforcement agencies IT teams and county business units.

  • Serve as liaison between departments and vendors on project implementation and issue resolution.

Service Management

  • Resolve service tickets related to Access Control Video Management Systems (VMS) and intrusion detection systems.

  • Maintain records of work orders repairs and resolution outcomes.

Professional Development

  • Stay informed on current trends technologies and best practices in access control and physical security.

  • Propose system improvements and policy updates based on evolving needs and industry standards.

Requirements

Education &Experience:

OR

  • Associate Degree from an accredited college or university

  • A minimum of five (5) years of related experience

  • A minimum of one (1) full year of supervisory or managerial experience
