Job Description
Concordia University is a Lutheran higher education community committed to helping students develop in mind body and spirit for service to Christ in the Church and in the world.
Position Summary
This is a part-time staff position that supports the spiritual life of the Ann Arbor campus. The campus pastor oversees campus worship and is available to students faculty and staff for pastoral care and counseling. The campus pastor must be prepared to serve a wide range of community members from religiously diverse background. The candidate must be an ordained and rostered member in good standing of The Lutheran Church-Missouri Synod or one of its partner churches.
Job Duties and Responsibilities
Campus Worship Life
- Offer in-person chapel service once a week at the Ann Arbor campus while classes are in session.
- Coordinate with musicians and Mequon campus pastor for service planning.
- Assist in opening service and commencement exercises.
Pastoral Care
- Offer some availability to the campus community for pastoral care and counseling.
- Hold a weekly office hour on campus before or after in-person chapel to facilitate pastoral care while classes are in session.
- Coordinate with other pastors to ensure pastoral care is provided to those in need.
- Other responsibilities as recommended or assigned.
Knowledge Skills and Abilities
- Pastoral experience
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
- Highly organized
- Supportive of the mission and values of Concordia University Wisconsin/Ann Arbor and the Lutheran Church Missouri Synod (LCMS)
Education and Experience
- Master of Divinity (M. Div.) and LCMS roster status is required.

Compensation and Benefits
This is a part time salaried position. The starting wage may be determined upon education and/or experience.
