ABOUT PEERS
Founded in 2001 PEERS mission is to build a diverse community of people with mental health experiences who provide culturally responsive peer-based wellness strategies. We work together to eliminate stigma and discrimination for those with mental health challenges. All of our programs and activities from peer support groups to arts and educational workshops to one-to-one services are rooted in the practice of warm and welcome unconditional positive regard and acceptance of everyone no matter who they are or how they show up. PEERS has won awards and pioneered new programs to reduce the stigma about mental illness.
PEERS envisions a world where people can freely choose among many mental health options that address the whole persons needs. PEERS see a future where people with mental health experiences are valued for their essential contributions to society.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
This position offers an opportunity to be a leader in addressing the impacts of mental health challenges in Alameda County and beyond. While PEERS has enjoyed stable ongoing funding and support from Alameda County PEERS is also looking for leadership that will have the skills to develop innovative programs and funding opportunities to further serve the community and adapt to current unfolding needs.
The next Executive Director will inherit an excellent working relationship with Alameda County and a highly committed and experienced senior management team. The next leader will also inherit the PEERS culture based on kindness pursuing justice diversity equity and inclusion within the staff board programs and externally.

Professional Experience/Qualifications
Preferred Experience:

4 direct reports and a budgetary accountability of at least $1M
and personnel management skills are essential
performing in a high-stress environment

have lived experience with trauma marginalization or other mental health concerns

COMPENSATION
Salary and benefits commensurate with qualifications and experience will be provided. Salary range is $130-135K.
