Job Summary:
This role is for a Surgical Technician in an acute care hospital setting. The technician will provide surgical support in a fast-paced environment working with a diverse range of surgical specialties and procedures. The position requires a minimum of three years of experience and involves weekend and on-call responsibilities.

Responsibilities:
- Providing surgical support across various surgical specialties (General Surgery Gynecology Neurosurgery Orthopedics Plastic Surgery Urology ENT Trauma).
- Preparing surgical instruments equipment and supplies.
- Assisting surgeons during surgical procedures.
- Maintaining a sterile surgical field.
- Following aseptic techniques and safety protocols.
- Handling specimens appropriately.
- Performing other duties as assigned within the scope of practice.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Surgical Technician.
- Experience in a Level I Trauma Center and Teaching Hospital setting.
- BLS certification.
- Proficiency in aseptic technique isolation precautions radiation safety sharps safety specimen handling/labeling and universal protocol (time-out) procedures.
- Demonstrated skills in handling various surgical instruments and equipment (drills electrosurgical units fiber optic light sources).
- Specific surgical skills including those listed in the input for various specialties.
- Must live within 50 miles of the facility.
Preferred Skills & Certifications:
- CST certification.
- Experience in a Magnet hospital.
Scheduling:
- 5 eight-hour evening shifts per week (12:45 PM - 21:15 PM or 2:45 PM - 23:15 PM).
- Schedule requests should be discussed with the manager. Block scheduling may be accommodated.
