Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Certified Surgical Technologist (OR Tech) for a 13-week contract with Providence Health and Services MSP. This role requires strong orthopedic surgery experience and flexibility to float to other affiliated facilities if needed. The CST will play a critical role in the surgical team ensuring procedures are conducted under strict aseptic technique with full compliance to safety and sterilization protocols.
Responsibilities:
Assist surgeons in various procedures including orthopedic vascular general GYN ENT and robotic surgeries
Prepare operating rooms by setting up surgical instruments and equipment
Maintain strict adherence to aseptic technique and safety protocols
Anticipate surgeons needs during procedures and pass instruments accordingly
Handle and label specimens properly
Perform instrument counts before during and after surgeries
Disinfect and sterilize instruments as needed
Document procedures and activities using Epic charting system
Participate in on-call rotation and float to other OR units as required
Years of Experience: 1.5 years minimum required
Specialty Requirement: Orthopedic surgery experience is required
Certifications:
Required: BLS NBSTSA (Certified Surgical Technologist CST)
Charting System: Epic (experience required)
Travel Experience: Not required
Floating: May float to other facilities (e.g. Covenant Medical Center)

Education:
Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology program
Experience:
Minimum of 1.5 years of recent CST experience in an acute care OR setting
Prior experience in orthopedic cases strongly preferred
License/Certification:
National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTSA) certification
Current BLS certification
