Job Summary:
This role is for a Surgical Technologist in a day surgery setting within a Level I trauma center and Magnet hospital. The Surgical Technologist will provide surgical support for a variety of surgical specialties including but not limited to ENT General Surgery Gynecology Orthopedics Plastic Surgery Podiatry and Urology. The position requires a minimum of three years of experience and on-call availability.

Responsibilities:
- Preparing surgical instruments equipment and supplies.
- Assisting the surgical team during procedures.
- Maintaining a sterile field.
- Performing aseptic techniques and adhering to safety protocols (laser safety radiation safety sharps safety etc.).
- Handling and labeling specimens.
- Following universal protocol (time-out) procedures.
- Performing post-operative cleaning and sterilization.
- Floating to the main OR as needed based on case volume.
- Adhering to fire safety protocols.
- Completing required documentation.
Required Skills & Certifications:
- Minimum 3 years of experience as a Surgical Technologist.
- BLS certification.
- Experience with a wide range of surgical instruments and equipment (drills electrosurgical units fiber optic light sources).
- Proficiency in aseptic technique isolation precautions and specimen handling.
- Knowledge of universal protocol (time-out) procedures.
- Experience with various surgical specialties (ENT General Surgery Gynecology Orthopedics Plastic Surgery Podiatry Urology).
- Fire Safety skills/knowledge.

Special Considerations:
- On-call responsibilities.
- 1-2 late stays per week are expected.
- Floating to the main OR if case volume is low in the day surgery unit.
- Must be in IL 3 business days prior to compliance HDD for fingerprinting.
- Guaranteed hours with a clause for client call-offs up to 36 hours per 13-week assignment.
Scheduling:
- 5x8-hour days (6:45 AM - 3:15 PM) 5 days/week.
- Schedule requests can be discussed with the manager.
- Open to accommodating block schedules (to be discussed).
