Job Description

School Archivist

School Officer Library Information and Resources

Fixed Term Full Time or Part Time (negotiable)

Commencing as soon as possible to end on 31 December 2026

with the high likelihood of extension

We are seeking an experienced and qualified School Archivist to join our community with an opportunity for future professional growth and development and high possibility of ongoing employment in 2026. This role may be worked either full time or part time (0.5) in order to secure our perfect person and will be remunerated at a School Officer Level 4 or 5 dependent on qualifications and experience.

The successful candidate will manage the Schools archives for the purposes of collecting accessioning preserving conserving and restoring where necessary; records pertaining to the function and general operation of the school and its wider community. As the School Archivist your work will support understandings of St Hildas School through the management and retention of its personal corporate and social memory and make those records available to users in accordance with appropriate policies and procedures approved by the school. Your work will be integral in supporting both daily operations and the preservation of our schools history.

Proven experience and relevant archival qualifications are essential.

The successful applicant must hold a current Working with Children Check and also be willing to have their name submitted to the Anglican Churchs Professional Standards Register. As a prospective member of the St Hildas Community you will be willing to support the Code of Conduct and the stated values and Anglican Ethos of the School.
