Campbell Hall founded in 1944 and situated on a 15-acre campus in Studio City California is an independent all-gender college preparatory Episcopal day school for students in kindergarten through grade twelve. Campbell Hall Faculty Description

In addition to academic responsibilities Campbell Hall faculty are involved in many aspects of school life. Coaching interscholastic athletics chaperoning experiential education trips participating in community service activities helping students to produce school publications overseeing student council and leading a special interest club are just a few ways faculty are more deeply involved in the Campbell Hall community.

Campbell Hall faculty embrace the schools mission and are dedicated to their implementation of a rigorous college preparatory program. Job Description

Responsibilities include the following:

  • Four middle school history classes (7th grade) and study hall class
  • All classes meet for 75 minutes every other day.
  • Middle school advisor (meet four times per week: two weekly group meeting and attendance at two chapels with advisees)
  • Supervision duty (one week per semester during lunch)
  • Attend bi-weekly grade-level meeting
  • Monthly meetings include but are not exclusive to:
    • History Department
    • Middle School Division
  • Experiential education trip chaperone (4-day trip)
  • Chaperone one after-school middle school dance per year
  • Attend middle school Open House events (twice a year)
  • Attend middle school Back-to-School Night (once a year)
  • All-school faculty/staff meetings are held three times per year
  • Participation in continuing professional development

American History 7: The Story of US

Taken in tandem with The Story of US: American Literature this course will teach students to become powerful communicators divergent and reflective thinkers and positive contributors to our world. By exploring texts that enrich their work in the English portion of The Story of US students will learn to think critically and to make meaningful connections. Through constant engagement with non-fiction and fictional texts active student-led discussions and frequent writing across a variety of genres students will gain a broader understanding of themselves society and the world. (A one-year required course for all 7th grade students.)

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree or higher
  • At least 3 years of classroom experience
  • Patience and creativity when working collaboratively with a range of constituent groups including students families faculty staff and administration from diverse backgrounds (religious ethnic socio-economic etc.)
  • Strength in both written and oral methods of communication
  • The teacher should demonstrate a willingness to grow and evolve as an educator and maintain a flexible attitude

Desired Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience with students families and history curriculum at the middle school level
  • Particular expertise in coaching students on the fundamentals of historical writing research skills and evidence-based thinking.
  • Proficiency with technology and academic platforms particularly Google Classroom PowerSchool Learning and website maintenance
  • A proven interest in and passion for history
