About the role:

BSI is looking for a dynamic and motivated Associate Consultant with 3-5 years of experience to join our EHS team at an exciting client site in the vibrant Boston MA area. Responsibilities:

• Manage laboratory inspections documenting unsafe conditions and collaborating with staff to develop JHAs and identify project-specific risks.
• Lead incident investigations conduct risk assessments and implement corrective actions to ensure a safe workplace.
• Organize safety meetings with senior management to proactively address hazards and risks.
• Oversee chemical management review new chemical approvals and ensure proper chemical storage segregation and compliance.
• Conduct periodic hazardous chemical inventory reviews for regulatory compliance.
• Lead lab safety training sessions for new hires and employees needing recertification (e.g. bloodborne pathogens Safe Start).
• Lead Large Quantity Generator requirements and develop contingency plans for waste management.
• Provide consulting on spill response cleanup and local reporting to agencies as needed.
• Implement biosafety hazard communication and chemical safety programs.
• Monitoring of COVID-19 safety measures (population density social distancing mask use cleaning etc.).
• Expertise in EHS regulatory compliance with local experience in Cambridge a plus.
  

To be successful in the role you will have:

• Bachelors degree in a scientific or EHS-related field
• 3-5 years of experience in lab safety biosafety and hazardous materials/waste management (consulting or EHS experience preferred)
• Experience with risk assessments and accident investigations
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Proficient in computer applications
• Professional certifications (CIH ASP CSP CHMM) preferred but not required
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations including Fed-OSHA standards and experience conducting compliance audits

The salary for this position can range from $80800 to $111100 annually; actual compensation is based on various factors including but not limited to the candidates competencies level of experience education location divisional budget and internal peer compensation comparisons.
