QUALIFICATIONS YOULL NEED
- Age: Minimum 18 years old
- Education: High school diploma or GED
- Licensing Requirements:
- Valid Wisconsin drivers license
- Valid CDL (Commercial Drivers License) with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements
- Driving Record: Excellent 5-year driving history with less than 7 points on driving abstract
- Safety Requirements:
- Successfully pass drug tests as mandated by federal law
- Meet insurance underwriters driving record requirements
- Ability to lift 50 pounds
- Professional Competencies: Strong customer service skills
- Preferred Experience:
- Working with low-income families and people with disabilities
- Experience with young children
- Vehicle and building maintenance experience
- Training: First aid defensive driving safety and child development (provided)
WHAT YOULL DO
As a Transportation Specialist youll provide essential support by:
- Transporting children and parents enrolled in agency programs safely and promptly
- Serving as a positive role model for children parents and the public
- Acting as an integral part of childrens educational experience
- Delivering food and program supplies/equipment to appropriate sites
- Supporting program operations with light maintenance tasks
- Assisting in classrooms when needed
- Building positive relationships with families and children
- Maintaining vehicle safety and cleanliness standards
- Following all federal and state transportation regulations
- Supporting diverse program needs through flexible task completion
