Senior Chemistry Analyst

37.5 Hours per week. Tuesday - Saturday. 09:00 - 17:00.

• Follow the procedures set out within the Quality Management System
• Perform analytical methods within the laboratory to generate accurate and reliable results for the customers
• Both Microbiology & Chemistry analytical procedures
• Comply with EN ISO/IEC 17025 accreditation standards in accordance with procedures
• Perform supporting tasks including but not limited to cleaning calibrations daily checks sample reception media preparation
• Involvement in the development of chemistry methods verification and validation
• Conduct audits and investigate non-conformities that occur in the laboratory when required
• Apply appropriate actions
• Support the business with chemical safety and quality issues
• Escalate any discrepancies or delays in result reporting to the customers and Laboratory Processing Manager
• Provide technical support to Operations R&D Quality and Client Liaison as required
• Raise any concerns about performance of analytical methods to the Laboratory Processing Manager
• Perform and review EQA IQA and AQC results and investigate any failures
• Raise any concerns regarding the performance of the analytical methods to Laboratory Processing Manager/ Deputy Quality Manager
• Participate in Proficiency Testing Schemes
• Participate in the UKAS assessment when required
• Answering technical queries in the absence of the Laboratory Processing Manager
• Generating client sample reports
• Participate in sampling when required
• Train other laboratory personnel in performing analytical procedures
• Liaise with Deputy Quality Manager to implement procedure changes in accordance to UKAS ISO and HTM
• Liaise with other relevant departments with regards to the customer samples
• Liaise and work closely with external suppliers contractors and service providers

Qualifications :

• Qualification in relevant discipline of science.
• Previous experience working within a laboratory and understands the importance of good laboratory practices
• Problem solving and troubleshooting skills
• Qualification in relevant discipline of science or a minimum of 5 years experience
• Previous experience working within a laboratory and understands the importance of good laboratory practices
• Problem solving and troubleshooting skills
• Confident working with a variety IT Systems for example LIMS and Microsoft Office
• Previous experience working with instruments is desirable however not essential as all training is done in house.
