Job Description

We are seeking an experienced and innovative Executive Sous Chef Banquets to lead the execution of large-scale high-end events that reflect the Sofitel standard of culinary excellence. From corporate galas to bespoke weddings this is your opportunity to lead a talented team and create inspiring memorable dining experiences for our guests.

  • Overseeing the day-to-day operations of the banquet kitchen delivering exquisite culinary experiences at scale
  • Assist Executive chef in leading mentoring and developing a passionate brigade of chefs and kitchen stewards
  • Develop and implement innovative menu items for various banquet events
  • Oversee food preparation presentation and quality control for all banquet functions
  • Manage and mentor kitchen staff fostering a positive and productive work environment
  • Ensuring impeccable food safety hygiene and quality standards at every stage of service
  • Collaborate with the banquet sales team to customize menus for special events and client requests
  • Monitor and control food costs inventory and kitchen budgets
  • Driving operational excellence through effective cost control team rostering and high service standards
  • Participate in menu engineering and pricing strategies
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth banquet operations
  • Stay updated on culinary trends and incorporate them into menu offerings.

Qualifications :

  • Proven experience as a Senior Sous Chef or Executive Sous Chef within a luxury hotel or premium event venue
  • Advanced knowledge of culinary techniques menu planning and food cost control
  • Relevant culinary trade qualifications
  • Expertise in large-format banquet production with a strong eye for detail and consistency
  • Expertise in various cuisines and dietary requirements
  • Proficiency in kitchen equipment operation and maintenance
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
  • Proven problem-solving and decision-making skills
  • Completion of Food Safety Certification
  • Knowledge of food trends and innovative culinary techniques
  • Proficiency in inventory management and budgeting
  • Flexibility to work evenings weekends and holidays as required
