Job Description

Amazons Geospatial team is looking for a Vendor Manager a pivotal role where our vision is to provide the best mapping solution for logistics with focus on a safe efficient and frictionless delivery experience. We work with a portfolio of map vendors to enrich our maps with attributes important to transporters.

As a vendor manager you will be a passionate advocate for our transporters possess strong negotiation and analytical skills together with proven commercial knowledge and experience. The ability to effectively prioritize and multi-task is a must together with excellent project management skills and laser sharp attention to detail. The Vendor Manager must also be an effective communicator working with some of Amazons most important partners and vendors as well as with internal colleagues and cross-functional leaders. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a passion for logistics and a high level of flexibility and commitment. We are seeking a tenured Vendor Manager with growth potential.

Key job responsibilities
To excel in this role you will leverage:
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to earn trust and influence as well as to hold stakeholders often more senior than you accountable for high standards
- Strong analytical and negotiation skills
- Learning-based problem-solving: breaking down issues into work streams working backwards from key deadlines
- Advanced project management skills with a strong sense of accountability for outcomes
- Enjoyment of analytical tasks working to create different scenarios based on alternative solutions
- Comfort managing a wide variety of projects and stakeholders in a fast-paced and ambiguous business environment
- Willingness to roll up your sleeves and operate with limited guidance
- Strong commercial and people judgment
- Analytical ability to think both strategically and tactically

- Experience in business development partner development sales or alliances management
- Bachelors degree or equivalent
- Experience using data and metrics to determine and drive improvements

- Geospatial experience

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $83100/year in our lowest geographic market up to $177800/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge skills and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered equity sign-on payments and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package in addition to a full range of medical financial and/or other benefits.
