The Associate Director Gene Therapies Regional Accounts serves in a specialized hybrid capacity focused on strategic account management achievement of performance metrics and oversight of site reimbursement and case support within rare disease. The successful candidate will collaborate closely with internal partners across Commercial Ethics Risk & Compliance Novartis Patient Services Trade & Distribution and Medical Affairs to ensure exceptional service delivery to key accounts.
Job Description
Key Responsibilities:
- Represent Novartis Gene Therapies with professionalism and integrity ensuring all engagements align with approved product labeling and comply with legal regulatory and industry standards; and uphold ethical practices in all communications and interactions.
- Educate and inform key account partners on the latest clinical data including efficacy and safety outcomes. Support informed decision-making by translating complex information into actionable insights.
- Collaborate with healthcare providers and institutions to develop tailored account strategies that optimize resource utilization while ensuring seamless product access by managing the full treatment center workflow from enrollment through reimbursement and distribution with a strong focus on service excellence.
- Build and maintain strategic relationships with hospital staff and clinical leaders provide guidance on insurance requirements and proactively address access challenges to support timely and equitable patient care.
- Deliver training and support to treatment center teams on reimbursement processes and access tools. Empower staff with the knowledge needed to navigate support services efficiently and confidently.
- Maintain deep expertise in payer-specific coverage policies and access procedures proactively identifying and resolving potential barriers to ensure timely and uninterrupted product availability for eligible patients.
- Continuously assess territory dynamics to uncover opportunities for innovation and process optimization while expanding treatment networks and referral pathways to elevate account experience and support long-term growth.
Essential Requirements:
- Bachelors degree (preferably in Life Sciences Pharmacy or business-related field).
- 8 years experience in pharmaceutical biotech or healthcare industry.
- Proven success in achieving or exceeding sales objectives for pharmaceutical products requiring complex payer and reimbursement engagement with direct experience managing injectable therapies buy and bill pathways and Specialty Pharmacy relationships within limited distribution networks.
- Possesses a strong track record in launching specialty pharmacy products and administering biologic therapies in clinical settings with deep knowledge of operational workflows and patient access strategies.
- Verified extensive understanding of customers and cross-functional teams along with insightful knowledge of the healthcare ecosystem robust business acumen and expertise in technology and digital engagement.
- Demonstrates exceptional communication and active listening skills with the ability to build trust and manage relationships across all organizational levels. Brings a strong understanding of the biotech and pharmaceutical regulatory landscape including compliance HIPAA and legal standards and effectively engages with both internal teams and external stakeholders such as healthcare professionals and office staff.
- Candidate must reside within territory or within a reasonable daily commuting distance of 100 miles from the territory border. Ability to travel 60-80% over a broad geography is required with the ability to drive and/or fly within the territory. Must have a valid drivers license.
Desirable Requirements:
- 3 years experience in the commercialization of rare disease or specialty biopharmaceutical therapies with a proven history of consistently achieving or surpassing strategic business objectives.

Novartis Compensation Summary:
The salary for this position is expected to range between $160300 and $297700/year per year.
The final salary offered is determined based on factors like but not limited to relevant skills and experience and upon joining Novartis will be reviewed periodically. Novartis may change the published salary range based on company and market factors.
Your compensation will include a performance-based cash incentive and depending on the level of the role eligibility to be considered for annual equity awards.
