At Bay Bluffs- Emmet County Medical Care Facility we pride ourselves on providing exceptional care with compassion and dignity. With a total team approach we combine dedicated administration with an experienced professional staff to offer a variety of services and programs for our residents ranging for short term rehabilitation to long term and dementia focused care. We are looking for compassionate hardworking people to join our team of dedicated caregivers.
Physical therapy assistants provide direct resident and/or client care and support activities which build and maintain the Facilitys therapy services department. Provides resident and/or client care under the direction of a licensed physical therapist. Aid in the restoration and enhancement of independent function or maximizing independence and function in those individuals whose living status has been compromised by illness and/or injury.

JOB DUTIES
Provide resident and/or client treatment which meet resident and/or client needs and uses current treatment knowledge in accordance with the Facility clinical procedures. This includes but is not limited to:
a. Provide comprehensive appropriate resident and/or client treatment in accordance with residents and/or clients individual treatment plan as stipulated by supervising physical therapist.
b. Provide clear instruction to resident and/or client and families.
c. Communicate with supervisor and other health team members regarding resident and/or client progress.
d. Instruct resident and/or clients families or nursing staff in specified follow through programs.
e. Demonstrate knowledge of appropriate resources for problem-solving and clinical protocol.
f. Document accurate complete and clear documentation in accordance with the Facilitys policies and procedures regulatory licensing payor and accrediting requirements.
QUALIFICATIONS
An employee in this class should have the equivalent of the following knowledge training and experience:
Understanding of the principles of physical modalities employed in physical therapy.
Knowledge of use of prosthetic devices ambulatory aides assistive and restorative devices and training.
Initiative in problem anticipation prevention and solving.
Knowledge of medical terminology.
Ability to work with all types and levels of staff and residents and/or clients.
Required training and experience Associate of Science degree from an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program. One to two years experience in a skilled nursing facilitys rehab environment or equivalent preferred. Current Physical Therapy Assistant License in the State of Michigan. Current State of Michigan drivers license for off-site job responsibilities.
Contract
