Job Description

Brief Overview of Position:

Strategic Operational Solutions (STOPSO) is seeking candidates for a Systems Administrator at Fort Eustis VA to support the US Armys Lifelong Learning Center (LLC) where we are focused on delivering support. Position requires onsite with some telework possible. We are seeking a Sr. Application Administrator to join a team of IT professionals that will manage the day-to-day system administration tasks associated with the virtual server farm and supported Applications. Works closely with database administrators and Information Assurance Manager to ensure compliance. Works closely with internal customers to provide technical support and troubleshooting for Learning Management System applications (currently Blackboard and Moodle) managing user access and permissions and deploying content packages to production.

Description of Duties:

  • Provide system support for approved services. This includes but is not limited to daily system support process improvement and maintaining accreditation documentation for multiple tiered systems
  • Assess Information Assurance Vulnerability Assessments (IAVA) test and schedule mitigation tasks during approved windows
  • Assess network topology and create DISA compliant diagrams using Visio
  • Analyze issues resulting from group policy changes and recommend solutions
  • Provide technical risk assessments assistance with system accreditation (Authority to Operate and RMF) and system risk assessment (security audits)
  • Track and manage error logs to ensure proper performance of the servers and monitor capacity of integrated systems
  • Manage backup configurations
  • As the system evolves to integrate new technologies and additional capabilities are identified for implementation the system administrator shall assist in analyzing requirements
  • Execute bi-monthly and emergency maintenance windows
  • Learning Management System application support manage user access assist customers in deploying content packages from dev/test to production provide technical support and troubleshooting

Education Experience and Security Requirements:

  • At least two years of experience as a system administrator on a Windows-based network
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain an active Secret Clearance; US citizenship is required
  • LMS technical application experience (Blackboard Moodle Canvas etc.)
  • CompTIA Security CE (must be current)
  • MCSA (Microsoft Certified Solutions Associate) certification with 6 months of start date
  • Flexibility required to perform occasional after-hours maintenance tasks and emergency repairs as needed
  • Bachelors degree highly preferred
