Job Description

The Portland Regency Hotel & Spa is looking for a Host to join our team!. A beautiful Historic Hotel of America located in the heart of Portlands Old Port District.

Full-Time benefits include Medical Dental Life and Short-Term Disability insurances Holidays and PTO. Part-Time benefits include Sick Time. All employees receive HHA Discounts Fitness Center use Uniform Parking and Employee Meal. 401k plan with a match after one year.

The schedule will primarily be mornings days and weekends with some night shifts depending on business needs.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities: include the following but other duties may be assigned.

Host/ess:

  1. Responsible for hanging the Specials Board for outside display.
  2. Responsible for greeting and escorting guests to their table providing menus assisting guests with their chairs water and coffee (a.m. only).
  3. Checking and hanging guests coats if necessary.
  4. Answer the telephone and assist with dining room reservations.
  5. At all times you are responsible for helping servers bus/set tables.
  6. Responsible for keeping host station clean including checking and replacing soiled menus.
  7. Assists servers in changing over tables for the next meal period.
  8. Always maintaining your post at the podium.

Language Skills

The ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals in required. Also required is the ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Lastly the ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of this organization shall be required as well.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is regularly required to stand for lengthy periods of time. The employee frequently is required to walk and talk or hear at the same time. The employee is occasionally required to use hands to finger handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; and climb or balance. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision distance vision depth perception and the ability to adjust focus.

While performing the duties of this job the employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions and extreme heat.
