Reporting directly to the Head of Strategy & Planning - Private Hospitals the Strategy Lead will be responsible for leading strategic and service planning initiatives from conceptualisation through to implementation. You will provide critical input into the future strategic direction of St Vincents primarily focusing on our Private Health sector.

This is a Permanent Full Time position based in either of our Group Head Offices in Melbourne (preferred) or Sydney.

Key responsibilities of the role:

  • Lead strategy and planning initiatives to drive St Vincents future growth and sustainability
  • Synthesize both qualitative and quantitative data to inform key decision-making and service planning including deep dives into data to extract insights and translate complex analytical findings into clear actionable recommendations
  • Proactively monitor the external environment including the health industry and wider commercial sector to identify relevant trends and their implications for St Vincents
  • Provide high-level strategic advice to clinical and broader leadership on sector and industry innovation while engaging key clinical and operational stakeholders to ensure optimal planning outcomes through stakeholder management and effective navigation of diverse perspectives
  • Implement robust project management methodologies and manage the production of high-quality project outputs such as risk assessments feasibility studies and project plans and lead post-project implementation reviews as required
  • Develop compelling strategic narratives and professional presentations that effectively communicate complex quantitative data and insights to diverse audiences

Things that work for us:

  • Demonstrated planning data analysis and project management skills and experience in a large complex organisation ideally within Healthcare (Private Health is a strong bonus)
  • Strong quantitative skills coupled with a comprehensive understanding of strategy frameworks and excellent communication abilities. While this role is not solely an analyst position a proven ability to extract interpret and present data-driven insights is essential
  • Ability to interpret the State and Federal planning and policy landscape to identify risks and opportunities that will inform local strategy and planning activities
  • Superior stakeholder engagement skills including the ability to engage and lead stakeholders from a diverse range of backgrounds and settings
  • Demonstrated effective written and oral communication skills with the capacity to produce high quality reports and presentations
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Suite particularly PowerPoint
  • Proven working style which is flexible positive and collaborative with the ability to be self-directed motivated and to work as part of a team
  • Evidence of a growth mindset and an interest in personal growth and learning
  • A Bachelors Degree in Health Sciences Business or Economics (desirable)
