What you can expect:
As a Sustainability Specialist youll work hands-on with global supply chains conducting field verifications engaging with clients and helping organizations meet their sustainability goals including compliance with regulations like the EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR).

Working with us is never routine so the first year you can expect the following areas to be central to your work.
- Help organizations implement responsible sourcing programs for agriculture and forestry raw materials
- Collect review and analyze supply chain data for compliance and improvement
- Collaborate with clients to deliver sustainability solutions tailored to their needs
- Support training reporting and workshops on due diligence and sustainable sourcing
- Engage with regulations and standards like EUDR and other due diligence and risk-based frameworks
- Conduct field audits and verifications for agriculture and forestry raw materials
Your First Year at a Glance
Within three months you will:
- Complete onboarding and orientation to Preferred by Nature systems teams and services
- Participate in training sessions on due diligence EUDR and sustainability frameworks
- Assist in supply chain data collection document review and risk assessments
- Learn and begin supporting onsite and desk-based verification activities
- Develop understanding of client needs in agriculture/forestry sectors
Within six months you will:
- Independently conduct risk assessment and verification tasks under supervision
- Contribute to drafting client reports and analysis based on collected data
- Participate in project design or pilot activities under the guidance of senior staff
- Support delivery of client training or workshops on responsible sourcing and Due Diligence
- Liaise with internal teams and clients especially for project coordination
Within twelve months you will:
- Lead smaller-scale field verifications and take responsibility for reporting and providing recommendations
- Contribute to development and refinement of client sustainability programs
- Independently engage with clients for scheduling data collection and progress updates
- Serve as a primary point of contact for select projects or components of larger programs
- Begin developing specialized expertise in deforestation-free sourcing or specific commodities
Important that you:
- Have a bachelors degree in environmental management agronomy natural resource management or a related field;
- Have a minimum of 3 years of experience in sustainable agriculture preferably in the coffee cocoa and/or palm oil sectors;
- Have familiarity with international due diligence regulations - such as EUDR - and/or voluntary sustainability standards;
- Have strong analytical data management and reporting skills;
- Have experience designing and managing projects;
- Have excellent interpersonal communication and coordination skills with a demonstrated ability to work effectively in international and multidisciplinary teams and engage with diverse internal and external stakeholders including farmers agribusiness companies funders public and private associations;
- Have proficiency in both Spanish and English with demonstrated working-level fluency in both languages;
- Are willing to travel regionally.
Would also be great but not necessary if you:
- Have experience in managing agricultural or environmental projects preferably in
multi-stakeholder and landscape-level initiatives; - Have technical knowledge in Regenerative Agriculture Carbon management Biodiversity and/or Human Rights in the agricultural sector;
- Have familiarity with remote sensing technologies and Earth Observation tools
- Have experience working with third party certification or verification schemes in the agricultural sector
- Have experience with sales processes including the development of technical and financial proposals.
