Job Description
The Company
Established in 2015 this growing civil firm has built a strong reputation within the hydraulic services space in the SEQ region. With a team of skilled professionals they ve recently expanded into the civil construction sector. As part of their strategic plan to become a trusted name in civil contracting delivering projects up to $15-30 million they re now looking to bring a talented Senior Civil Estimator on board to support this exciting phase of growth.
Position Overview
- Review project plans specifications and relevant documents to produce accurate cost estimates.
- Complete take-offs for materials labour and equipment using estimating tools.
- Compile and submit tender proposals in collaboration with project stakeholders.
- Source and assess quotes from suppliers and subcontractors.
- Assess project risks and incorporate allowances as needed.
- Maintain and update pricing databases and industry cost trends.
- Attend site inspections bid briefings and project scoping meetings.
- Support ongoing project budgeting and cost control.
A Successful Candidate
- A degree in Civil Engineering Construction Management or related discipline.
- Minimum of 5 years experience in estimating within the civil construction space.
- Background with Tier 2 or 3 civil contractors is a strong advantage.
- Competent in using estimating software and tools.
- Solid grasp of construction methodologies materials and industry benchmarks.
- Excellent numerical and problem-solving ability.
- Able to interpret technical plans and specifications with confidence.
- Strong interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Well-organised efficient and deadline-focused.
- Previous exposure to infrastructure projects such as roads pipelines or utilities preferred.
- Understanding of local codes safety guidelines and procurement processes.
- Brings energy integrity and a proactive attitude.
- Committed to continuous learning and career development.
