Job Description
We are seeking an experienced AWS Cloud Engineer with a strong foundation in cloud infrastructure deployment and a keen understanding of security protocols to drive complex technical components of a critical AU Government program. You will play a key role in designing implementing and maintaining the cloud infrastructure within the AWS environment.
Youll ensure robust security aligned with ISM controls and provide technical leadership to support projects leveraging AWS services . You will be involved in regular security assessments audits and vulnerability testing through to monitoring and optimising performance availability and scalability of AWS solutions. You will provide SME guidance and documentation for projects using AWS within the hosting environment.
You will use your problem solving and analytical skills to dive deep to resolve problems at their root looking for failure patterns amenable to long-term solutions to uplift and improve architectural patterns. You will work closely with operations staff engineering and client services to ensure cloud services are highly resilient.

Qualifications :
- Demonstrated experience designing deploying and maintaining AWS environments.
- Demonstrated experience securing AWS environments within Government operational and security frameworks.
- Demonstrated experience deploying and configuring AWS through Infrastructure as Code (Terraform CloudFormation Ansible).
- In-depth experience in DevOps cloud architecture or related roles with proven expertise in AWS cloud platform.
- Hands-on experience with microservices architecture orchestration applications such as Kubernetes Docker and orchestration tools.
- Familiarity with Azure DevOps an advantage along with CI/CD tools and processes involving Jenkins Git ELK stack and scripting.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
- Understanding of identity and access management (IAM) principles.
Desirable Skills
- Experience deploying and supporting AWS AI tools and platforms including services like Bedrock is considered advantageous.
- Experience with Microsoft Azure services is an advantage.
- AWS Certifications (e.g. Solutions Architect DevOps Engineer).
- Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python Shell or PowerShell.
- Experience with cloud migration strategies and executing large-scale migrations.
- Experience working within Agile delivery environments.
- Exceptional Consulting and Communication Skills.
- Ability to interpret and present results to stakeholders at all levels.
- Ability to prioritise and control workload.
- Demonstrated collaboration skills and a successful track record in building strong relationships with business and technology stakeholder.
