Job Description

As Formby Hall Golf Resort & Spa embarks on an exciting new chapter following a multi-million-pound renovation we are repositioning the resort as a leading destination for both domestic and international golf travel. To support this transformation we are seeking a proactive Golf Sales Manager who will play a critical role in amplifying our presence within the wider golfing community. Set in 200 acres of lush green landscape boasting 2 function rooms 2 meeting rooms 76 bedrooms a luxurious spa and two golf courses we offer the perfect location for Weddings Events conferences meetings team building and so much more.

Whats the role

Formby Hall Golf Resort & Spa is seeking an ambitious and driven Golf Sales Manager to lead the strategic development and growth of our golf sales channel with a particular focus on managing key accounts across the golf tour operator market. This is a proactive field-based role designed to increase revenue market share and brand visibility both domestically and internationally.

As a brand ambassador you will represent Formby Hall at key trade shows golf exhibitions and networking events while also hosting familiarisation trips and site inspections to showcase our award-winning resort. Your objective will be to build strong long-term relationships with existing and prospective partners and drive golf business to the resort across all segments.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Key Account Management:
    Act as the principal contact for all golf tour operators maintaining and growing strong relationships to ensure repeat business and increased market share.
  • New Business Development:
    Proactively identify and pursue new business opportunities across UK and international golf markets including niche luxury and group travel sectors.
  • Sales Strategy & Planning:
    Contribute to the development and execution of the golf sales strategy in line with revenue targets and wider business goals.
  • Representation & Events:
    Represent Formby Hall at golf travel trade shows tourism exhibitions sales blitzes and industry networking events across the UK and overseas.
  • FAM Trips & Site Inspections:
    Plan coordinate and host familiarisation visits ensuring guests experience the full value of Formby Halls golf accommodation dining and spa offerings.
  • Collaboration & Communication:
    Work closely with the Reservations Marketing Operations and Revenue teams to ensure seamless communication promotion and delivery of the golf product.
  • Market Intelligence:
    Monitor competitor activity market trends and customer feedback to ensure Formby Hall remains competitive and relevant in the marketplace.
  • Reporting & Analysis:
    Maintain accurate records of all sales activity and produce regular performance reports forecasts and ROI evaluations for senior management.

What do you need

  • Proven experience in golf sales travel trade or hospitality account management (ideally within golf resorts or tour operations).
  • Strong network of contacts within the golf tourism industry.
  • Commercially astute with a passion for hitting and exceeding targets.
  • Proactive self-motivated and results-driven with excellent organisational skills.
  • Confident presenter and negotiator with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to travel regularly (UK and international) and work flexible hours including occasional evenings/weekends.
  • A genuine passion for golf and tourism.
  • High attention to detail organisational skills and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency with hotel systems and Microsoft office
