Job Description
As a Maintenance Engineer Apprentice you will be studying a Level 3 Maintenance Operations Engineering Technician Apprenticeship. Throughout your apprenticeship Magma Global you will be supported by your company mentor and your PETA Learning and Development Coach.
Your Level 3 programme will include a level 3 Engineering work-based qualification delivered by PETA and day release for 24 months to complete a level 3 BTEC technical certificate.
Overall duration 48 months.
Joining the Company team as a Maintenance Engineer Apprentice your role will be focused on maintenance of a variety of machinery and equipment. As part of your programme you will learn how to:
- Replace faulty components based on fault-finding
- Learn to maintain bespoke equipment such as lasers automated robots and large production machinery
- Mechanical & electrical inspection and maintenance on a range of equipment
- Liaise with production team
- Follow housekeeping and health & safety procedures
- Interpret read understand and complete various technical documentation
For an initial period the working hours will be 8:30-17:00 however later will change to early & late shifts working 06.00-14:00 or 14:00-22:00.

Essential Skills:
An apprenticeship is all about learning new knowledge skills and behaviours therefore to be considered for this role you must be able to demonstrate a genuine interest in engineering and a willingness to learn.
To be considered for the role of Maintenance Engineer Apprentice you will have a keen eye for detail and take pride in completing work to a high-quality and standard. You will also require the following skills and qualifications:
- 2 GCSEs at grade C or above (or equivalents) in Maths and English
- Enthusiastic team player
- Self-motivated and driven
- Excellent communication skills
- Positive attitude
- Willingness to learn
- Your methodical and logical approach to problem solving will enable you to perform to make a positive contribution to all aspects of the job
- You will have a good level of dexterity and hand skills
- Demonstrate a real interest in maintaining electrical and mechanical equipment
- You will have good hand to eye co-ordination
- You need to be able to learn through instruction and experience
