About the Role: Director Product Design
Were growing and were hiring a Director of Product Design to join our Product team! In this role youll lead commonskus product design practice with both handson craft and strategic leadership. For the first 1218 months you will personally design critical product surfaces while building and developing a worldclass design team transitioning to a full peopleleadership role as the team scales.
Youll collaborate closely with teammates across Product Engineering and Customer Success to deliver an exceptional cohesive user experience contribute to a high-trust remote environment and play a direct role in shaping the future of an entire industry.

What Youll Do
Heres what youll do:
- Produce highfidelity designs and prototypes for toppriority initiatives.
- Maintain and extend the tokenbased Design system in Figma; ensure parity with frontend code.
- Define and articulate a clear 3year product design vision aligned with company strategy.
- Recruit onboard and coach a diverse and high-performing product design team.
- Establish scalable design processes: discovery research design critiques designtodev handoff and UXmetrics tracking.
- Foster crossfunctional collaboration through weekly DesignFrontEnd syncs and embedded PMDesignEng triad rituals.
- Drive adoption of the design system.
- Scope projects in milestones balancing ambition with delivery realities.
- Champion evidencebased usercentered decision making across the organisation.
What You Bring
Some of the qualities that help you thrive in this role:
- 8 years product design experience working on a B2B SaaS platform
- 2 years of people and team management experience
- Proven experience balancing team leadership with still shipping design work.
- A strong portfolio demonstrating both shipped product work and designsystem stewardship.
- Mastery of Figma autolayout and tokenbased design systems.
- Proven experience coaching and developing designers in a remote environment.
- Experience scaling and growing a design team by hiring great talent and developing internal team members.
- Strong discovery analytical and communication skills.
- Comfortable presenting to executives and customers in a way that speaks to their unique positions
- Experience with generativeAI creation tools for Product Design
- A bonus: Light frontend literacy (React/Storybook)
Compensation & Perks
We believe in fair transparent compensation. Starting salary for this role is $140000$170000 depending on previous experience and skillset plus a 10% annual bonus opportunity based on company performance. New hires are expected to come in at the midpoint of this range. However if this role sounds perfect for you and your expectations are outside of this range we encourage you to apply and let us know in your application about your ideal package. If we agree that its a good fit we will have open discussion around whats possible.

Location
This role is open to candidates eligible to work in Canada with the exception of Quebec (were not set up to operate there yet dsol!).
Were remote-first but if youre based in Toronto even better. Thats where we were founded and where we maintain our HQ today!
